Export Process

The Livestock Export Process: From First Enquiry to Delivery

Exporting live animals can look complicated from the outside. The livestock export process is easier to follow once you see it as a series of clear steps, each with a defined owner. This page walks you through the eight stages from your first enquiry to the day your goats or sheep arrive, and shows what we handle and what we need from you.

The Livestock Export Process in Eight Steps

  • 1. Enquiry. You tell us the breed, quantity, purpose, destination and preferred origin through the quote form.
  • 2. Quote. We check availability from the USA, France or both, and send options, pricing and a realistic timeline.
  • 3. Confirmation. You choose the animals and route, and we confirm terms and reserve the stock.
  • 4. Preparation. Veterinary examination, testing, vaccination and any pre-export isolation are completed.
  • 5. Permits and documents. Your importer secures the import permit while we prepare the health certificate and records.
  • 6. Transport booking. We book the air or sea freight, crates and handling at the port or airport.
  • 7. Shipping. The animals travel by road to the departure point and onward by air or sea.
  • 8. Arrival and delivery. Inspection and clearance take place, and the animals go to your farm or quarantine facility.

Who Does What

What we handle

Animal selection, veterinary preparation, the health certificate, records, crates, transport booking, handling at departure and regular updates until arrival.

What we need from you

Your destination and breed requirements, the import permit, your clearing agent or contact at arrival, and a quarantine facility if your country requires one.

How Long Does Livestock Export Take?

The honest answer is that it depends. Testing, permits and transport booking each take time, and together they often add up to several weeks, sometimes longer for strict destinations. The earlier you tell us your target dates, the easier it is to plan around test windows, permit processing and sailing or flight schedules.

The Livestock Export Process: Questions

How do I start exporting livestock?

Fill in our quote form with your animal category, breed, quantity, destination and preferred origin. We reply with options and a timeline.

Do I need an import permit before I order?

You should start the permit process as soon as you accept the quote, since it can take time. We tell you what the exporting side needs so the documents match.

Can I visit the farm or see the animals first?

We can share photos, video, health records and pedigree details before you commit, and we are happy to discuss visits where possible.

What if my country's rules change during the process?

Import rules can change. We check the current rules at quote stage and again before shipment, and tell you right away if anything affects your order.
